By John Lee. The Ministry of Oil has reportedly issued tenders to export Iraqi crude oil through the Syrian port of Baniyas and the Jordanian port of Aqaba, according to Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani. In comments reported by the state-run Iraqi News Agency (INA) , Abdul Ghani said Iraq remains heavily dependent on revenues from crude oil exports, and that the ministry is pursuing additional export routes. He said efforts are also underway to resume exports through Türkiye's Ceyhan port. According to the minister, contracts for transporting crude oil through the Syrian and Jordanian routes are expected to be awarded within the next two days. Because no operational pipelines currently connect Iraq with either Baniyas or Aqaba, the crude will be transported by tanker trucks.
